The original aluminum panel sign band at the roof line of North Dallas Bank was failing and in some cases coming loose. The panels in use were too thin and flimsy and the attachment to the structural steel framing was inadequate. The existing aluminum panels were removed and discarded. This new system was a designed system with 1/8” thick aluminum panels with horizontal tubular stiffeners on the back side. The attachment of the new panels system was with z-clips attached to the structural steel and a steel base plate mechanically fastened to the bottom of the existing steel structure. The panels were hung on the z-clips and then fastened to the structural steel framing. The NDBT illuminated sign and logo were attached to the new panels with fasteners through the panels.
