Dean McGee Eye Center in Oklahoma gets new glass and aluminum

Dean McGee Eye Center

In 2011 Dean McGee Eye Center in Oklahoma City started construction one a new extension to the existing building. In doing so they needed to upgrade their existing older building. Without totally replacing the existing curtainwall system, mainly due to this being an occupied medial facility that needed to stay operational, they decided to change out the glass and the exterior covers. All of the existing vision glass was replaced with a grey tinted SN68 coated product and the spandrel glass was replaced with a grey tinted Harmony spandrel product, both from Tristar Glass out of Tulsa, Oklahoma. New foil faced insulation was also installed behind the spandrel glass to help with energy efficiency. Once all of the glass and glazing gaskets were replaced in the system a new clear anodized face cap was installed. New perimeter sealant was installed as well on all frames. The consultant on this project was CDC out of Dallas.
